How to test the TridentGold app

Use the assigned TestFlight build on iOS to try the sandbox credential journey below. You will receive a synthetic credential, approve a presentation, and see the result in the hosted verifier demo.

Test builds and credentials are for testing only. The app's Police certificate option in this journey is a synthetic fixture, not an official certificate.

What you need

  • A physical iPhone with TestFlight and access to the assigned TridentGold build.
  • A private, one-time sandbox credential invitation from your testing contact.
  • An internet connection during issuance, status refresh, and presentation.
  • A browser for the verifier demo, on the phone or on another screen.

The testing contact will confirm the app version and build for this journey. An older TestFlight build may support accounts but lack these credential features.

Install on iPhone

  1. Install Apple's TestFlight app from the App Store if needed.
  2. Open the TridentGold tester invitation supplied by your testing contact.
  3. In TestFlight, accept the invitation and install the assigned build.
  4. Open TridentGold and follow the account setup or sign-in prompts.

If the assigned build is not visible, ask the contact to check your invitation and release availability. Uploading a build does not make it immediately available to external testers.

Receive a test credential

  1. In the app, choose Add a credential.
  2. Under Police certificate, choose Enter code.
  3. Enter the invitation supplied privately by the test coordinator. Do not enter your name, passport details, or real identity information.
  4. Tap Get credential and follow any device-unlock prompts. Keep the app open while it receives, activates, and stores the credential.
  5. Open the stored credential and use Refresh under Credential status. An active credential is ready for the presentation test.

You do not need a passport or an NFC scan for this journey.

Present to the verifier

  1. Open the credential verifier demo in your browser.
  2. Choose Present a ZKNC credential to create a fresh request.
  3. Scan its QR code with the app, or use the page's wallet-opening button if you are on the same phone.
  4. In TridentGold, review the verifier, purpose, and requested disclosure. Cancel if anything is unexpected. Otherwise, tap Create proof.
  5. Keep the app open while it prepares and sends the presentation. Return to the original browser tab to see Credential accepted or the rejection.

The QR code opens an online request; it does not contain the credential or proof. Requests expire. If a request has expired or was already opened, start another from the demo page.

Try revocation with the coordinator

  1. First complete an accepted presentation of your active test credential.
  2. Ask the test coordinator to revoke that credential and confirm the status update has been published.
  3. Open the credential in the app and tap Refresh. It should report revoked.
  4. Create a new presentation request from the demo. The revoked credential should no longer be accepted. The wallet may block presentation before anything reaches the verifier.

Do not reuse a request opened before revocation: it retains its original status allowance until expiry. Deleting the credential from your app does not revoke it. Ask for a new invitation if you want another active test credential.

Install on Android

Android testing is a separate track. Confirm the assigned build and supported flows with your testing contact; this guide does not promise parity with the iOS credential release.

  1. On the phone, confirm that the Play Store is signed in with the approved Google account. Ask the testing contact to add it to the tester list first.
  2. Open the TridentGold Google Play internal-testing invitation.
  3. Tap Become a tester.
  4. Tap Download it on Google Play, then Install.

The installed app is named TridentGold.

Updates

New iOS test builds appear in TestFlight. New Android builds arrive as normal Play Store updates. If an expected update is not visible, refresh the store page and allow time for a newly published build to finish processing.

Troubleshooting

  • The Play Store says “Item not found” or will not load the page. In the Play Store, open the profile menu and confirm that the selected account is the one on the tester list. A fresh build may also take a few hours to appear.
  • Google Play says you are not eligible. Ask the testing contact to confirm that your Play Store account is on the approved tester list.
  • The TestFlight invitation will not open. Install TestFlight first, then reopen the invitation on the iPhone.
  • The app will not install or launch. Record the visible error, phone model, operating-system version, and app build number if available. Do not send account or credential data.

Report feedback safely

Describe the steps you took, what you expected, what happened, the phone model, operating-system version, app build number, and approximate time. A screenshot is helpful only after checking that it contains no sensitive information.

Never include invitation codes, identity claims, passport photos or document numbers, credentials, account identifiers, recovery phrases, passkeys, tokens, QR payloads, or other private data in feedback.

See Release and compatibility for the current integration scope.
